Showtime secures U.S. rights to Frampton-Donaire and Selby-Warrington

Frampton-Donaire is on April 21st, Selby-Warrington on May 19th

American boxing fans with a functioning Internet connection, rejoice.

Thanks to Showtime, fans on this side of the pond will get to enjoy both the April 21st Belfast bout between Carl Frampton and Nonito Donaire and the May 19th Leeds showdown between Lee Selby and Josh Warrington. You can catch both events on Showtime’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

ESPN says that the streams will be simulcasts of BoxNation’s broadcasts, although I’m not sure if that includes the respective undercards. It would be a nice way to introduce Zolani Tete to American audiences if it did.

Frampton (24-1, 14 KO) and Donaire (38-4, 24 KO) will be fighting for the interim WBO featherweight title and, presumably, a future crack at regular champ Oscar Valdez once the latter can eat solid food again. Selby (26-1, 9 KO) will be making the fifth defense of his IBF featherweight belt against Warrington (26-0, 6 KO), his top-ranked contender.
