Golovkin vs Martirosyan: Live Official Weigh-In (4:00pm ET)

Gennady Golovkin and Vanes Martirosyan hit the scale today ahead of tomorrow night’s middleweight title fight.

Today, beginning at 4:00pm ET, HBO will be live streaming the official weigh-in for Cinco De Mayo’s Gennady Golovkin vs Vanes Martirosyan fight. The full weigh-in can be viewed above, right here on BLH!

In this fight Golovkin will be taking on Martirosyan as a late replacement for Canelo Alvarez, which has certainly dulled the promotional build-up for what is traditionally one of the two biggest fight weekends of the year.

In fact, it’s been dulled so much that this fight has been moved from a pay-per-view event to standard HBO, which isn’t a terrible thing for fight fans, aside from the fact it’s not the most compelling match-up.

Golovkin enters this fight coming off a disputed draw against Canelo Alvarez last year and is looking to make a statement ahead of what’s expected to be a rematch with Canelo that actually comes off this September — but this is boxing and a lot of things can change between now and then.

Meanwhile Martirosyan is coming off a two-year layoff to move up to middleweight, last losing a unanimous decision to Erislandy Lara in May 2016. He’s vowed to get into a firefight with Golovkin which should make this an action fight for as long as it goes.
