“Next Manny Pacquiao” #43 Mercito Gesta, who fell well short against Jorge Linares in January, got back in the win column tonight with an upset of Robert Manzanarez in a Golden Boy on ESPN main event.

As the highlight states, Gesta (32-2-2, 17 KO) took home a majority decision on the strength of his infighting despite a strong mid-round surge from Manzanarez (36-2, 29 KO), who saw a 15-fight winning streak come to an end in Indio.
Earlier in the evening, Edgar Valerio’s (13-1, 8 KO) “O” had to go against Manny Robles Jr. (16-0, 8 KO), going down twice en route to a ninth-round KO loss. Robles has now stopped four consecutive opponents and established himself as one of Golden Boy’s top featherweight prospects.
