Heavyweights Dereck Chisora (28-8, 20KOs) and Carlos Takam (35-4-1, 27 KOs) have just been scheduled to go head-to-head on the undercard of Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker on July 28, ESPN reports.
Chisora, 34, has gone 3-3 in his last six fights but most recently stopped Zakaria Azzouzi in March at London’s O2 Arena. Meanwhile Takam, 37, is coming off a stoppage loss to Anthony Joshua back in late 2017.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn says this fight will be something of a last stand for both fighter’s who are trying to maintain relevance in the heavyweight division.
“For Del Boy, it’s a real last chance saloon at world level and for Takam it’s a chance to push for another world title shot after a strong showing against AJ.”
This July 28th card will also feature appearances of Kell Brook and Katie Taylor, setting it up to be a pretty good show.
