Tomorrow night’s Showtime tripleheader is mostly set, with one fighter on the televised undercard missing weight, but the rest of the crew on point on the scales this afternoon.
The main event is good to go, as IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr (23-0, 20 KO) and mandatory challenger Carlos Ocampo (22-0, 13 KO) both came in just under the 147-pound limit.
Spence, 28, weighed in at 146¾, with the challenger Ocampo at 146½.
The co-feature was a bit more complicated. WBA “world” super bantamweight titleholder Daniel Roman (24-2-1, 9 KO) weighed in at 121¾, so a bit under the 122-pound limit, but challenger Moises “Chucky” Flores (25-0, 17 KO) weighed in at 123 pounds.
The title is not on the line for Flores, and win or lose, Roman will retain his belt. But the fight looks like it will go ahead.
The opener is a 10-round bout in the junior welterweight division, and it’s set. Javier Fortuna (33-2-1, 23 KO) and Adrian Granados (18-6-2, 12 KO) both weighed in at 139¾ pounds, just under the 140-pound limit.
