Billy Joe Saunders already postponed his fight with Martin Murray once due to a hand injury, and now a reported hamstring injury has done it again, as the June 23 date is off.

Saunders (26-0, 12 KO) announced the cancellation on Twitter:

Murray (36-4-1, 17 KO) doesn’t sound like he’s buying the excuse:

If you can’t listen to the video, Murray says, “Just think it’s best you heard it from me rather than you hear another bullshit story. The fight’s off with Billy Joe Saunders. He’s shit out again. First time was his hand, now it’s his hamstring. We know that he’s just trying to make a big money fight with Golovkin or Canelo. I’m too risky to fight, he just doesn’t want to fight me. There’s nothing I can do.”

Murray is hoping he can get a new opponent so as to not waste another training camp getting ready to fight Saunders, but promoter Frank Warren hasn’t announced yet whether or not the show, without its original main event, will still go on.
