The IBF-mandated super featherweight title fight between Tevin Farmer and Billy Dib looks to be official.

The fight was originally for the interim title, but was upgraded after Kenichi Ogawa was stripped for a failed drug test.

Farmer (24-5-1, 5 KO) saw an 18-fight winning streak go up in smoke via controversial split decision against Ogawa, though it’s since been overturned to a No Contest. His only loss in the last six years came against Jose Pedraza.

Dib (43-4, 24 KO) is 4-0 (1 NC) since getting mulched by Takashi Miura in 2015. It is not entirely clear to me how he managed to become the top-ranked IBF contender, as he fought nobody of note in that span, but perhaps such things are beyond my ken.

It’s worth keeping an eye on Tim Tszyu (9-0, 7 KO), son of Kostya, as well. We’ll let you know if they manage to scrounge up any other Aussie standouts for the undercard.
