Joseph Parker faces Dillian Whyte next Saturday in the United Kingdom, and insists he’s ready to go for that fight, which could serve as essentially a world title eliminator, with the winner right in line to get a title bout with either Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder.
“I’m going to rumble, let’s get it on. We’ll get face to face, I’ll test him out, and I’ll see what he’s about. I’m ready to throw hands.”
Parker (24-1, 18 KO) is coming off of a March loss to Anthony Joshua, where he pushed Joshua to a decision for the first time in AJ’s pro career.
He also admits he’s got some concerns about the referee for the fight with Whyte (23-1, 17 KO), and that’s understandable. Nobody liked the job that Italian referee Giuseppe Quartarone did in the Joshua-Parker bout, but the British Boxing Board of Control say they’re picking out one of their own referees, as expected, and Parker’s trainer Kevin Barry seems comfortable with that.
