Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia decide to settle their feud in a sparring match

Just in case you haven’t been paying much attention in recent months, Golden Boy prospect Ryan Garcia (15-0, 13 KOs) has been almost relentless in taunting WBA titleholder Gervonta Davis (20-0, 19 KOs), whether it be on camera or social media.

And with Garcia steadily insisting that he wants all the smoke with Davis, Davis has finally called Garcia’s bluff by saying that he’ll be showing up to Garcia’s gym next week — pulling right up to his front door — so that the two can handle the business.

Garcia still didn’t back down though, and even upped the ante by saying that he wants to go unlimited rounds with Davis until one of them can’t continue any longer (a conversation which Davis then posted on social media to keep Garcia from copping out later).

Live up to ya word gangsta!

Now whether or not this whole ‘showdown’ actually happens is anyone’s guess at this point, but it doesn’t seem like it’s the most prudent decision for the young prospect. Davis, 23, is clearly much more polished than Garcia, 19, at this point, and Garcia’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya has publicly stated that he doesn’t believe his fighter is ready for Davis (a video clip Davis has even posted as a taunt).

I’d like to believe that Garcia’s handlers wouldn’t allow him to get ruined in a sparring session for no money, but at some point your ass has to cash the check your mouth wrote. “You get what you ask for,” the saying goes, and Garcia will soon have to live up to all his brash talk one way or another.
