New Zealand’s Joseph Parker is back in the United Kingdom for Saturday’s clash in London with Dillian Whyte, and the former WBO titleholder has heard all of his opponent’s trash talk, and says it doesn’t concern him.
In fact, Parker thinks Whyte is exposing something.
“My opponent’s been talking a lot of smack, and I think sometimes smack talk is a sign of doubt, and also it’s a sign of trying to convince himself, and convince others that he’s ready for this challenge. I hope he’s ready to take a lot of punches, because I’m going to give them, real bad.”
Parker (24-1, 18 KO) and Whyte (23-1, 17 KO) are in a big fight here, with the winner right in line for a world title shot at either Anthony Joshua, who has beaten both of them, or Deontay Wilder.
What do you think? Has Whyte’s non-stop verbal assault in the build-up been anything more than him selling the fight, or is it just that? Do you think Whyte is ready for Parker?
