With us now being just one day away from a lightweight unification match between titleholders Mikey Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs) and Robert Easter Jr. (21-0, 14 KOs), check out yesterday’s full final press conference courtesy of Fight Hub TV.
Garcia, 30, enters the bout as the favorite for good reason after dominating performances over former 140lb titleholder Sergey Lipinets this past March and Adrien Broner last summer. He may not be flashy but he’s as technically sound and as well-rounded a fighter as we have in the sport.
Conversely Easter, 27, hasn’t exactly blown most people away with his last few performances, starting with a split decision win over Richard Commey in late 2016. But Easter has taken a trip down south to Camp Cunningham where he’s linked up with a new trainer who he expects will bring the best out of him.
Easter has been saying that he’ll be patient, using his height and reach advantages over Garcia, but it also wouldn’t be surprising to see Garcia bait him into a scrap where he gives those advantages up. We’ve seen it before.
In the meantime, though, check out what final words the fighters had for each other in the video above. Garcia and Easter will go head-to-head tomorrow night on Showtime and we’ll be here with live coverage of all the action.
