Kovalev-Alvarez, Berto-Alexander, more: Boxing fight times and TV schedule for August 3-4

Sergey Kovalev vs Eleider Alvarez headlines the weekend.

Friday, August 3

ESPN+, 5:15 am ET, Billy Dib vs Tevin Farmer. The vacant IBF super featherweight title is on the line from Australia. BLH will have live coverage.

Bounce, 9:00 pm ET, Ladarius Miller vs Dennis Galarza.

Telemundo, 11:35 pm ET, Antonio Tostado Garcia vs Victor Uriel Lopez.

Saturday, August 4

Sky Sports Action (UK), 3:30 pm ET, Joe Cordina vs Sean Dodd. A nice matchup between a rising prospect (Cordina) and a tested veteran (Dodd). Natasha Jonas and Daniyar Yeleussinov are also in action, among others.

FOX, 7:30 pm ET, Andre Berto vs Devon Alexander, Peter Quillin vs J’Leon Love, Sergey Lipinets vs Erick Bone. Berto-Alexander is a veteran crossroads fight in the welterweight division. The winner might get a title shot. The loser is pretty much out of the discussion. Quillin-Love is another interesting fight between two guys who need the win. Lipinets is moving to 147. BLH will have live coverage.

HBO, 10:00 pm ET, Sergey Kovalev vs Eleider Alvarez, Dmitry Bivol vs Isaac Chilemba. The big hope here is setting up a Kovalev-Bivol fight, which is probably the best fight that can be made at 175. (Adonis Stevenson generally doesn’t count for fights that “can be made,” especially against fighters outside of the PBC umbrella.) Kovalev-Alvarez is a legit main event, a titleholder and a real contender, and Alvarez is finally getting his world title fight after not fighting Stevenson roughly 31 times. Bivol is a big favorite against veteran Chilemba. BLH will have live coverage.
