A source with knowledge on the situation has informed ESPN that the IBF middleweight title fight between Daniel Jacobs (34-2, 29 KOs) and Sergiy Derevyanchenko (12-0, 10 KOs) will likely be held on November 10 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, in a card that will air on HBO.
The promoters would have liked to have booked either Madison Square Garden or the Barclays Center for this event but haven’t been able to align a HBO date with either or those venue’s availability.
Jacobs, 31, is most recently coming off two decision wins over Luis Arias and Maciej Sulecki since his loss to Gennady Golovkin in early 2017, and in this fight he’ll be competing for the IBF title that was recently stripped of Golovkin.
Meanwhile Derevyanchenko, 32, has looked the part of a formidable opponent through only 12 professional fights. He’s riding a six-fight stoppage streak, last stopping Dashon Johnson in six rounds back in March.
