Regis Prograis’ #1 seed in the World Boxing Super Series super lightweight tournament has netted him both his choice of opponent and home field advantage for the semifinals. According to ESPN, “Rougarou” is “likely” to take on Terry Flanagan on October 27th in New Orleans.
This would be Flanagan’s first appearance across the pond.
Prograis (22-0, 19 KO), who’s stopped 15 of his last 16 opponents, stands alongside Josh Taylor as an early favorite to win it all. He’s looked absolutely vicious thus far in his career, walking through incoming fire to pulverize opponents’ bodies with single-minded devotion. Flanagan (33-1, 13 KO) is likely his best opponent so far (depending on how you rate Julius Indongo), though ,so this ought to be a quality scrap.
As with the rest of the tournament, US viewers can watch the fight on DAZN. This will reportedly be one of four WBSS events to take place on US soil as per the broadcasting deal.
