British lightweight champion Lewis Ritson is set for two fights, the first on September 8 on the Khan-Vargas card in Birmingham, and the second for October 13 in Newcastle.

Ritson (16-0, 10 KO) is chasing the European lightweight title, which is currently held by Edis Tatli (30-2, 10 KO), who will defend tomorrow in Finland against Frank Urquiaga (12-0, 1 KO).

Ritson’s fight on the Khan-Vargas card will be a simple eight-round tune-up, or at least that’s the idea, something relatively soft to keep him fresh. He last fought on June 16, beating Paul Hyland Jr via first round stoppage. Before that, he stopped Scotty Cardle in two, and Joe Murray in one the fight before that one, and overall is working on a streak of seven straight victories inside the distance.

The October 13 card will also feature the returns of light heavyweight prospect Joshua Buatsi (7-0, 5 KO) and heavyweight David Allen (14-4-2, 11 KO), plus a fight at 140 for the vacant British title and the Commonwealth belt between Glenn Foot (23-3, 7 KO) and Robbie Davies Jr (16-1, 12 KO).
