Bryant Jennings (24-2, 14 KOs) made his case for getting back into the heavyweight mix tonight with a stoppage win over Alexander Dimitrenko. Jennings outworked Dimitrenko over nine rounds but suffered a quick scare in the fourth when he suffered a flash knockdown from Dimitrenko right hand.
Jennings was able to get up with his composure intact and decided to make it more of a dog fight which made Dimitrenko uncomfortable. In the eighth round Jennings went on an assault when a left hook floored Dimitrenko. Dimitrenko would get up but get put right back down by a follow up assault. Dimitrenko made it out of the round but took another big shot, an uppercut on the inside, that dropped Dimitrenko again, and the referee immediately waved it off.
Dimitrenko wasn’t happy with the stoppage, but it seemed like he was trending down in the fight and wasn’t in the best condition.

In the televised opener super middleweight Jesse Hart moved to 25-1 (21 KOs), completely steamrolling Mike Gronvonski in less than three rounds. From the opening bell Hart tagged Gavronski with jabs from the outside, hard body shots on the inside, and an overhand right that would put Gavronski on the deck multiple times before the fight was waved off in the third.
Third straight stoppage win for @1hardworkhart. Think he wants that @RamireZurdo rematch? #HartGavronski pic.twitter.com/oBFxfm2f6n

Gavronski really had nothing to offer Hart in this one so it’s hard to truly gauge the performance, but Hart was pretty pleased with his performance. In the post fight interview he screamed for a rematch with Gilberto Ramirez — the one man to beat him. Hart said considering his three fight knockout streak since that loss he believes he deserves that fight again. That said, Ramirez’s current plans are up in the air and may not involve Hart. We’ll see.
