WBO middleweight titleholder Billy Joe Saunders (26-0, 12 KOs) and challenger Demetrius Andrade (25-0, 16 KOs) took the stage today in Boston’s Faneuil Hall to kick off the promotional activities for the for their October 20th card.
Saunders showed up to the opening presser in his best dungarees while Andrade stole the show by coming dressed as a colonial pilgrim...and later transforming into fashion-forward pirate. Great stuff.
In this card Saunders will be defending his WBO title at the TD Garden in Boston in a card that will stream live on DAZN, which will also feature Tevin Farmer (26-4-1, 5 KOs) defending his IBF junior lightweight title against James Tennyson (22-2, 18 KOs) and Katie Tayor (10-0, 5 KOs) taking on Cindy Serrano (27-5-3, 10 KOs).
“For those who don’t know,” Andrade began, “Billy Joe Saunders, yes, he is a great fighter. Southpaw. Undefeated. You know, ugly looking. But he can fight...but your boy Demetrius Andrade always comes through. Never have I failed to come out without the victory.”
“We both failed in the Olympic games,” Saunders interrupted.
“I got cheated! Clearly!” Andrade exclaimed. “You’re lucky you wasn’t in my weight because I would’ve whooped your ass then!”
“I was in your weight,” Saunders retorted.
“You was there?!...Well I didn’t see you!” Andrade quipped. “They seen me!”
