As part of the promotional activities for the September 15th rematch between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin, Canelo held an open media workout in front of some fans where he displays his speed and power.
Canelo has been adamant that despite all the controversy surrounding the failed drug tests which originally postponed his rematch with Golovkin, there was absolutely no intent to deceive or gain any unfair advantage over Golovkin for the sequel. All of Golovkin’s plain accusations that Canelo was intentionally cheating has really gotten under Canelo’s skin, which he plainly admits, but he suggests that he’s constructively channeling that energy into his training.
The Mexican star says he’ll be looking to make an emphatic statement with a stoppage win over Golovkin in this rematch, and will be targeting an opportunity to end the fight as soon as possible. How that all pans out remains to be seen. In the meanwhile, catch a little footage of Canelo putting in some work just a couple of weeks before the big fight.
