Arnold Khegai: Bring on Isaac Dogboe!

The prospect is taking aim at a champion.

Following last Saturday’s wipeout win over Hidenori Otake, Isaac Dogboe is riding high as WBO super bantamweight champion, but there’s also a target on his back.

One young fighter taking aim is Arnold Khegai, the 26-year-old Salita Promotions prospect.

“I feel I am the best super bantamweight in the world,” said Khegai. “I want to prove my point by fighting the most avoided fighters in the division. Bring on Dogboe!”

Khegai (13-0-1, 9 KO) isn’t being arrogant about the idea, though. He simply believes he can beat Dogboe (20-0, 14 KO).

“I know Isaac had an impressive victory and I commend him for that,” continued Khegai. “But I will gladly fight him. I know I can’t be beat at this weight and I’ll fight anyone to prove it.”

“Arnold is a bluechip contender on his way to becoming a dominant name in the super bantamweight division,” said his promoter, Dmitriy Salita. “Not only does he have the skills and power, but most importantly, he has the desire to fight the best. That is a complete package.”

Khegai made his U.S. debut on May 11, winning an eight-round decision over Adam Lopez, a solid victory on ShoBox. Dogboe would be a big jump, but even if it’s not next — or any time soon — Khegai is putting his name out there and getting some attention.
