Today at 5:15 ET streaming live on ESPN+, Billy Dib faces Tevin Farmer in Redfern, Australia for the vacant IBF super featherweight title. We’ll be here with live coverage of the bout.
Dib (43-4, 24 KO) is a 32-year-old veteran who held the IBF featherweight title from 2011-2013, when he was beaten by Evgeny Gradovich. Since then, he’s lost a rematch to Gradovich by TKO that same year, and was also stopped in three by Takashi Miura in 2015 after moving up in weight.
He’s never really been a world class fighter, but he’s had good connections throughout his career, which is a big reason he’s getting this fight, given that he has no marquee wins since his last defeat.
Farmer (25-4-1, 5 KO) is a crafty Philadelphia southpaw, 28 years old, who has learned on the job and emerged as a legitimate contender in this division. He was flat out robbed against Kenichi Ogawa last December, but that fight was changed to a no-contest after Ogawa failed a drug test.
