DAZN’s first American card is set for October 6 in Chicago at Wintrust Arena, with Jessie Vargas facing Thomas Dulorme in the welterweight main event, two world title fights, and a heavyweight attraction that may not be a good idea.
Vargas (28-2-1, 10 KO) is coming off of a draw with Adrien Broner in April, and will now take on former 140-pound title challenger Dulorme (24-3, 16 KO), a former prospect who has been found out at higher levels in losses to Luis Carlos Abregu, Terence Crawford, and Yordenis Ugas.
The two world title fights are more attractive. IBF light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev (12-0, 12 KO) will defend against Callum Johnson (17-0, 12 KO), and WBA “world” super bantamweight titleholder Danny Roman (25-2-1, 9 KO) will look to continue his hot streak against Gavin McDonnell (20-1-2, 5 KO).
Also set is the rumored fight between heavyweight prospect/contender Jarrell MIller (21-0-1, 18 KO) and long-faded Polish star Tomasz Adamek (53-5, 31 KO), who is undersized and now 41 years old. This will be Adamek’s first fight outside of Poland since 2014.
