Carl Frampton admits that he’s annoyed by Australia’s Luke Jackson in the lead-up to their August 18 fight in Belfast, and is vowing to knock Jackson out when the two meet next Saturday.

“He has annoyed me enough to want to flatten him and put him out cold, properly. I haven’t knocked anybody out in a long time, but Luke Jackson is a guy who is going to get knocked out.”

Frampton (25-1, 14 KO) also took some shots at Jackson (16-0, 7 KO), a 2012 Olympian, crowing about his amateur career:

“Who gives a fuck what he did as an amateur?. He isn’t Vasyl Lomachenko. Let’s not forget he is based in Australia. If Australia sent a 10-man team to box an international against Ireland they would get beat 10-0, and that’s a fact. His amateur career wasn’t even that good when you look at it. The reason Australia can send almost a full team to the Olympics is because they box Fiji, Samoa and Tonga.”

Frampton has won two straight following a rematch defeat against Leo Santa Cruz, most recently winning a decision over Nonito Donaire. Jackson, meanwhile, is taking an absolutely enormous step up in competition with this fight, as he’s yet to face anyone of note as a professional.
