The November 3 fight between WBC super featherweight titleholder Miguel Berchelt and mandatory challenger Mickey Roman is fully set now, as the fight is headed to El Paso, Texas. It will air, as previously reported, on ESPN+.

Berchelt (34-1, 30 KO) has become arguably the top fighter in the 130-pound class now that Vasiliy Lomachenko is at 135. He made his mark in a pair of HBO-televised fights in 2017, beating Francisco Vargas to win the belt and then defending successfully against Takashi Miura six months later.

But his last two defenses, easy wins over Maxwell Awuku and Jonathan Victor Barros, have left a bit to be desired, to be honest. That’s where Roman (60-12, 47 KO) comes in. The veteran fighter is never in a bad bout, and knocked off Orlando Salido last December on HBO in a late Fight of the Year candidate.

Since then, he’s beaten Aristedes Perez and Michel Marcano via early stoppages, waiting to get his shot at Berchelt. It’s coming now, and on paper, the fight figures to be a good one with plenty of action.
