According to a report from TMZ, Floyd Mayweather could be coming back for two more fights, with him first taking a tune-up bout before facing Manny Pacquiao for a second time. Sources suggest that Mayweather’s tune-up bout could come in Tokyo where he would be looking to crash into the Asian market with endorsement and clothing opportunities.
Floyd is even reportedly considering facing MMA fighters and kickboxers for the tune-up bout, which is an awesome idea since he still hasn’t proved to the world that he can box better than non-boxers.
Supposedly New Year’s Eve is in play for this fight, which is a major fight date in Japan. And if this all goes through as suggested, his fight against Pacquiao would then follow sometime in 2019.
Mayweather has been out of action since taking out Conor McGregor over a year ago, and has sworn up and down that he’s retired from boxing — up until he apparently wasn’t, which is hardly the first time he’s said he’s walking away only to come back to the sport.
