Bob Arum sounded pretty hopeful that we will be seeing guys on opposite sides of the street come together and battle.
Like, for example, his guy Terence Crawford, and the welterweight guy on the PBC side, Errol Spence Jr.
“I would hope it’s 2019, we’d like to do it next year. The first six months or any time of the year,” said Arum on the latest TALKBOX podcast.
He said that he wants Spence to tell advisor Al Haymon that he wants to fight Crawford, and then Arum said him and Haymon can hash out terms.
“We just want to make the damn fights,” Arum said.
He said that ESPN has hopes that boxing can again become a major league sport, if the deal makers all try to come together, and take risks, let the chips fall where they may.
Friends, are you optimistic or cynical? Do we think Arum and Al can meet in the middle, and we can see Bud vs Errol in a timely fashion?
