WBC officially orders Wilder-Fury 2

Should it go to a purse bid, there’s a more equitable split this time

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury have until February 5th to come to terms for their hotly anticipated rematch, otherwise a purse bid will be held and split 60-40 between the former and latter. Thus spake Sulaithustra.

Okay, that was a reach.

Wilder (40-0-1, 39 KO) and Fury (27-0-1, 17 KO) still have unfinished business after their controversial draw, so this isn’t a surprise. The only drama came in the possibility of Anthony Joshua poaching one or the other before they could run it back; he could still theoretically fight Fury, but recent negotiations suggest that’s not likely.

Meanwhile, Dominic Breazeale remains in the cold. Spare a thought for the shafted mandatory.
