The previously confirmed super welterweight title fight between “regular” WBA champion Brian Castano and former “Super” champion Erislandy Lara will take place on March 2nd at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, according to La Nacion.

Honestly, I tried to find a pic of Brian Castano, seeing as he’s technically the A-side, but Getty failed me. Hope you guys still like shots of Lara holding multiple belts.

Castano (15-0, 11 KO) stopped Emmanuel de Jesus in a knockdown-filled scrap to win the then-vacant belt, then dispatched France’s top two super welterweights, Michel Soro and Cedric Vitu, back-to-back.

Despite a long and sordid history of boring slogs, Lara (25-3-2, 14 KO) took part in one of 2018’s Fights of the Year, an epic battle with Jarrett Hurd that would have been a majority draw but for a 12th-round knockdown from Hurd. The 35-year-old had won six straight since a split decision loss to Canelo Alvarez.
