ESPN+, 6:30 pm ET, Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk prelims. Light heavyweight vet Michael Seals and prospects Josue Vargas, John Bauza, Julian Rodriguez, Sonny Conto, and Joseph and Jeremy Adorno are set for action in Philadelphia. BLH will have live coverage.

ESPN, 10:00 pm ET, Artur Beterbiev vs Oleksandr Gvozdyk, Kudratillo Abdukakhorov vs Luis Collazo. Beterbiev-Gvozdyk is a light heavyweight unification fight and one of the best fights on the schedule right now, and it also could be a hell of a fight from an entertainment standpoint, as the style matchup points to good stuff. Gvozdyk is a good technician with power, and Beterbiev is a skilled brute, a true mauler who just wears opponents out. Abdukakhorov is going to look for what would be the most notable win of his career, but Collazo is still crafty and tough at 38. The winner will be in the mix to fight Bud Crawford in 2020, like it or not. BLH will have live coverage.

Saturday, Oct. 19

DAZN, 4:00 am ET, Chainoi Worawut vs Alvin Medura. Another in the Workpoint series that DAZN have rights to and nobody watches, pretty understandably because none of the fights are ever particularly compelling given their start times.

DAZN, 2:00 pm ET, Robbie Davies Jr vs Lewis Ritson, Ted Cheeseman vs Scott Fitzgerald. Both of the top two fights on this card are well-matched domestic matchups. Davies-Ritson has some heat behind it, as Davies feels he’s beyond this sort of fight and wants to mix it at world level. Cheeseman-Fitzgerald is for Cheeseman’s British title at 154 pounds, with Fitzgerald coming off a big win over Anthony Fowler in March. BLH will have live coverage.

Facebook, 8:00 pm ET, Oscar Duarte vs Richard Solano, Francisco Vargas vs Ezequiel Aviles. I’m guessing on start time for now, they didn’t list one in the press release and there isn’t one yet on their Facebook page.

UFC Fight Pass, 9:00 pm ET, Cody Crowley vs Mian Hussain. Fight Pass have linked up with Crowley, which is something to do. Crowley is a 26-year-old from Ontario. They’re calling this a “Homecoming,” but he just fought at this same venue in his last fight in February. Veteran Tony Luis is also on the card.
