With Anthony Joshua apparently leaving no stone unturned in his preparations for his December rematch with Andy Ruiz, hoping to get his world titles back, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn tells Sky Sports that Joshua will be sparring with Dereck Chisora.
Joshua’s team sort of lamented to lack of quality sparring partners they were able to use for their first fight with Ruiz, but now hope to up the quality of sparring for Joshua as Chisora himself gets ready to take on David Price.
“He’s sparring Chisora [on Friday]. That is great sparring for both,” promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports.
”The difference in this camp is the quality of sparring - replicating Ruiz Jr’s style. It is a unique style and not many people can do it.”
Chisora’s manager, David Haye, says that the two British heavyweights are ideal sparring partners for their respective bouts, saying Chisora can replicate Ruiz’s pressure while Joshua can emulate Price’s jab from range. We’ll see how that all works out soon enough, I guess.
