Apparently not everybody was impressed by Josh Taylor’s gritty win over Regis Prograis during the WBSS final match. With the win Taylor unified IBF and WBA 140lb titles and earned a legitimate claim as the best junior welterweight in the world, but former junior lightweight champion Gervonta Davis made it a point to say he has Taylor in his sights after his upcoming bout with Yuriorkis Gamboa, as the two fighters traded words on social media.
That’s the best joke I’ve heard in a good while ! What a minge

Following that message Taylor encouraged Davis to reach out to Al Haymon, saying they don’t call him the “hype job killer” for nothing.
All in all I think Davis might be feeling himself a little too much at the moment. Davis is surely a talented fighter, but he’s been pretty coddled by his promoter, which is even further evidenced by his upcoming fight with Gamboa. But even with all of Davis’ natural ability, it’s hard to see him going from fighting Gamboa at lightweight straight to Taylor at 140, especially given the size and length differential.
Do any of you like Davis’ chances against Taylor at 140?
