The long-delayed rematch between WBC super welterweight champion Tony Harrison and former champion Jermell Charlo looks to finally have a date. Mike Coppinger reports that the fight will headline a December 21st PBC on FOX show, confirming Charlo’s Instagram post from last month.

Jermall Charlo will defend his own belt two weeks prior.

Harrison (28-2, 21 KO), who’d suffered stoppage losses to Willie Nelson and Jarrett Hurd in his previous steps up and was more than a +800 underdog in places, scored one of 2018’s most controversial upsets last December with a unanimous decision over Charlo (32-1, 16 KO). Charlo quickly exercised his rematch clause and the two prepared to settle things on June 23rd, only for Harrison to injure his ankle three weeks out.

Charlo went on to smash late replacement Jorge Cota in three rounds.

We’ve already had almost a year to discuss the rematch, so I think we’re about out of novel technical comments to make. I’m just glad they’ll finally get this over with.
