With Canelo Alvarez (52-1-2, 35 KOs) set to challenge light heavyweight titleholder Sergey Kovalev (34-3-1, 29 KOs) on Saturday night, the two fighters held their final presser which can be viewed in its entirety above thanks to our friends at Fight Hub TV.
Canelo Alvarez will essentially be jumping up two weight divisions in an effort to win a title in his fourth weight class, and if he’s successful there’s plenty of questions about where the Mexican fighter might go from there.
Of course Kovalev has other plans, as he hopes to shut down Canelo’s aspirations and earn some good coin while doing it.
Both fighters will hit the scale tomorrow for the official 175lb weigh-in, and it’ll be interesting to see what Canelo actually tips the scale at on the day. For his part Canelo says he plans on weighing the full 175lb limit, but I don’t expect to see him put on much if any weight between the weigh-in and the fight itself.
