DiBella Entertainment hits UFC Fight Pass on November 15th for some Friday night action in Salt Lake City, led by a pair of unbeaten Kiwi heavyweights in separate bouts. Junior Fa headlines against Devin Vargas, while Hemi Ahio takes on Joshua Tufte.
Denis Douglin and Ivan Golub are set to appear as well.
I don’t really know how to categorize Fa (18-0, 10 KO); “prospect” sounds right, seeing as he has a good amateur pedigree and is less than four years into his pro career, but he’s 30 years old and has yet to graduate from beating cannon fodder. Despite being ranked in the WBO top 10, his most recent fight was against 44-year-old Dominick Guinn and he now faces 37-year-old Vargas (21-5, 9 KO), who’s been knocked out by every warm body he’s faced.
Ahio (15-0, 10 KO) is 29 and in around the same spot career-wise. Tufte (19-3-1, 9 KO), reeling from consecutive losses to Adam Kownacki and Jerry Forrest, is unremarkable beyond being the most baby-faced boxer I’ve ever seen.
Nothing special, but Friday fights are Friday fights.
