Eddie Hearn: Oleksandr Usyk or Joseph Parker could face Dereck Chisora next

Fresh off his dominant stoppage win over David Price on October 26, British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (32-9, 23 KOs) is having his next big outing lined up by Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn. And speaking to Sky Sports, Hearn says he believes there’s a potential fight between Chisora and Oleksandr Usyk to be made.

“I think the Usyk fight is there. It’s a fight that they could do, potentially even for the WBO world title next year, or it’s a fight that they can do in February for that mandatory position.”

Former heavyweight titleholder Joseph Parker’s name is also still in the mix, with Chisora and Parker previously lined up fight last weekend before Parker had to pull out from a suspected spider bite that left him ill. For his part, Parker’s promoter David Higgins would like to see that fight rescheduled for February 2020, and while Hearn is seemingly amenable to that idea, he still wants to weigh the idea of Usyk-Chisora as well. Still, though, Hearn says he needs to reach Chisora’s management to see where they’d like to go from here.

“I owe David Haye a call. I think they are even trying to jump on the Saudi card as well. But early next year I think you’ll see the return of Derek Chisora — and Usyk and Parker are the front runners.”

As fans, would you rather see a Parker-Chisora fight next or Usyk-Chisora?
