Queensberry’s December 21st Copper Box card has picked up some addition British talent. Before Daniel Dubois takes on Kyotaro Fujimoto, Sunny Edwards and Liam Williams will do battle with the TBA twins.

London’s Edwards (13-0, 4 KO), brother of former flyweight champion Charlie, remains in the prospect stage of his career as he approaches his 24th birthday. His three-fight 2019 campaign most recently saw him successfully drop from 115 pounds to 112 with a decision over Rosendo Hugo Guarneros in September.

He currently sits in the WBO top five at flyweight, sandwiched between Junko Nakatani and Cristofer Rosales.

Williams (21-2-1, 16 KO) is 5-0 with five knockouts since a pair of extremely competitive losses to Liam Smith. He stopped Mark Heffron for the British middleweight belt last December, did the same to Joe Mullender less than four months later, then put away Karim Achour to claim a WBC trinket on the Joe Joyce-Bryant Jennings card.

Neither man yet has an opponent, but Williams says his fight will be “very meaningful.” He’s ranked #4 by the WBC and #6 by the WBO; most of those around him in the rankings are currently occupied, but he recently jawed with WBO #2 Alantez Fox, which would definitely be an interesting class of styles.
