Lou DiBella looking to get Regis Prograis right back in the world title mix

Prograis is coming off a close majority decision loss to Josh Taylor in the WBSS 140lb final.

Regis Progais is no doubt disappointed that he didn’t walk away from the World Boxing Super Series as a unified junior welterweight titleholder, but he didn’t put on a performance to be ashamed of. In fact, in the aftermath of his majority decision loss to Josh Taylor last month, Prograis made no excuses and gave full credit to Taylor — something that endeared Prograis even more to boxing fans.

So as Prograis looks to regroup and bounce back, promoter Lou DiBella says he’s looking to get Prograis another world title shot as soon as possible, especially considering he thinks Prograis had an argument for beating Taylor.

“I thought Regis could’ve been given a decision had the fight been in the states. He probably would’ve been given the decision. But it was a fight that was very highly contested and very very close.”

DiBella would then continue by saying about his impending plans for Prograis:

“I don’t think he’s going to move up to 147 yet. I think he’d like to regain a world title at 140.

“That’s what we’re going to try to do as quickly as we can. We want to put him in a position to do that.”

It seems a pretty unlikely that Prograis will get an immediate shot at Taylor again, so Taylor aside, which 140lb fighter would you most want to see Prograis in against for his next outing?
