Deontay Wilder’s power is, without a doubt, truly special.

For six rounds tonight, Wilder waited for an opportunity, and then in the seventh, he found it, flattening Luis Ortiz with a single right hand, scoring his 41st knockout and retaining the WBC heavyweight title.

Wilder (42-0-1, 41 KO) has the sort of power that not only leaves fans and media gasping, but fellow fighters, too, and there was plenty of admiration shown for Wilder’s latest thunderous knockout tonight on Twitter, basically as soon as the punch landed and the fight was over.

Below, check out Tweets from the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Danny Garcia, Tony Harrison, Claressa Shields, Regis Prograis, Ryan Garcia, and many more. The word “wow” is a pretty common take, and it should be. All Luis Ortiz, a really good fighter, did was make one mistake, basically, and that was all that Deontay Wilder needed. Even if you want to argue that he’s a one-trick pony, it’s a trick he executes like few ever have.
