Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn is expecting a good turnout for the live gate for this weekend’s main event between YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul. Hearn tells Sky Sports that he anticipates up to 15,000 fans to show up but believes if it’s a good fight that it could potentially grow into something much bigger down the line.
“I don’t really know where this is going. A lot of it comes down to the actual event, and the fight. If it’s a really good fight and someone gets knocked out, and everyone rants and raves about it, then you’re probably going to do something again.
”If it’s a stinker and everyone moans and says ‘it was a novelty, a one-off,’ then maybe it is, but you can’t ignore the numbers. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen.”
Hearn would continue by saying that both KSI and Logan Paul are up there with Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor in terms of salesmanship and promotion. And with that said, it appears that if everyone can make good money without completely embarrassing the sport (and really this is boxing, which is as shameless as it gets) then there’s a good chance this might not be the end of this whole saga.
