Jamel Herring vs Lamont Roach Jr.
Round 1: Jab to the body misses for Roach. Herring responds with a combination upstairs that doesn’t find the target. Herring measures with a couple of jabs and then lefts go a left hand to the body. Straight left hand lands to the body for Herring. Two more body shots score for Herring. Roach lands a shot that strays a little low but Herring counters with a shot of his own. Two more body shots land for Herring, then two more just moments later. Roach gets in a left hook upstairs at close range. Herring 10-9.
Round 2: Cuffing right hand lands for Roach and his feet gets tangled with Herring’s and Herring slips to the canvas. Straight right to the body falls short for Roach. UPpercut lands on the inside for Roach as Herring steps foward. Left hook lands but Herring gets in one in return and Roach’s gloves touches the canvas but the referee tells the fighters to continue. Herring stalks Roach and looks to land a body shot but Roach steps out of range. I’m going to edge this round to Herring too. Herring 10-9, 20-18.
Round 3: Roach’s trainer Joel Diaz tells him to close the distance a little more. Both fighters get tangled in an exchange to start the round. Straight left hand from Herring misses to the body. One-two comes from Herring at center ring. Now Herring throws a straight left to the body. Herring is keeping Roach at a range where Roach can’t get off effectively. Straight left hand lands upstairs for Herring. Now Herring lands a clean jab upstairs as Roach tries to find a way into punching range. Another straight left from Herring partially lands to the body. Herring 10-9.
Round 4: Herring comes out and picks spots to throw straight shots from the outside to keep Roach at range. Herring pops a jab from the outside and is pretty much cruising as Roach isn’t comfortable pressing the action as a natural counter punchers. Now Roach lands a clean shot upstairs on Herring. Check hook partially lands for Herring. Slow tactical fight, but I think Herring is having it his way. Herring 10-9, 40-36.
Round 5: Two counter hooks land for Herring as Roach tries to lead at mid-range. Straight left lands to the body for Herring at center ring. Now Herring adds a left hand upstairs and gets back to poking with his jab before letting go a check hook. Another check hook lands for Herring and Roach gets in a left hook upstairs during an exchange. Roach falls short with a hook from the outside and Herring gets in a counter. Left hook lands for Roach upstairs. Jab lands for Herring at center ring. Both fighters clash heads at the end of the round. Herring is still mostly getting the fight he wants. Herring 10-9.
Round 6: Roach’s trainer urges him to up his work rate as he senses this fight getting out of range. Herring catches Roach with another check hook. Jab lands for Herring at center ring, followed by a left to the body. Now Roach gets in a counter shot but he’s gonna need a lot more of those. Body shot lands for Herring on the inside and Roach thinks it was low. Hard left to the body lands for Herring. Roach slips his head from side to side and steos in and lands a nice shot on the inside. Another two short shots get in for Roach at the bell. Roach 10-9, 55-59.
Round 7: Roach slips a couple of shots but doesn’t find a space to get in a counter. Check hook lands for Herring. Counter shot lands for Roach but Herring ties him up before he can follow it up. Both fighters trade shots. Herring throws to the body and head but it falls a little short. Roach sits down on a counter shot with his left hand. Both fighters feint as they try to draw out a lead from the other. I think Roach just edged this round. Roach 10-9.
Round 8: Counter left hand from Roach makes some contact but Herring comes back with a combination that Roach is largely able to evade. Straight left hand from Herring makes partial contact to the body. Roach steps forward and lands a clean hook. Another two shots land for Roach as Herring complains to the referee about a punch behind the head.Now Herring lands a right hand lead. Straight left lands to the body for Herring. Now Herring lands a clean left to the head that might’ve stunned Roach a little. Herring 10-9, 78-74.
Round 9: Straight right hand lands clean for Roach. Both fighters exchange and Roach gets in the better shot. Herring lands a right hand that knocks Roach off balance. Straight left hand lands clean to the body for Herring. Roach tries to throw his own but he walks into a a shot from Herring that makes Roach go down but the referee says no knockdown. Herring jabs a couple of times upstairs gets Roach at range. Herring lands a clean straight left to the body. Herring 10-9.
Round 10: Roach misses on a sweeping right hook at center ring. Now Herring throws a combination of punches before getting tied up with Roach along the ropes. Check right hook lands upstairs for Herring. Straight left hand lands clean for Herring to the body. Roach lands a body shot and the referee tells him to keep them up. Jab from Herring sets up another left to the body. Herring continues to get off first and it’s allowing him to make an impression. Good round for Herring. Herring 10-9, 98-92.
Round 11: Roach comes out with a big shot to start the round. Now Roach throws a combination to the body on the inside. Now Roach lands a couple of clean counter hooks in an exchange with Herring. Roach lands a clean left hook now. Roach presses forward momentarily but misses on a right tot he body. Counter jab lands for Roach as he catches Herring getting lazy. Hard shots from Roach stun Herring along the ropes! Herring is hury but the bell rings! Roach 10-9.
Round 12: Roach ties a big left hook but doesn’t land it clean. Two body shots get in for Roach as Herring tries to hold. Straight left from Herring falls a little short. Right hook lands for Roach as Herring retreats. Now a clean left hook lands for Roach. Roach looks for anothe big overhand right but misses on this one. Herring tries a jab but gets it blocked. Roach stalks Herring but Herring is backing off before he can land anything else. Roach 10-9. I’ve got it scored for Herring 116-112.
Kubrat Pulev vs Rydell Booker
Round 1: Jab to the body falls a little short for Booker, who then follows it up with a couple more fast jabs upstairs that lands. Booker is showing some quick hands for a fighter his size. Three punches come from Booker but Pulev defends them well this time. Pulev presses forward but can’t find the range yet on his punches. Two more jabs come from Booker that don’t land clean but keep Pulev on the defensive. Straight right hand to the body lands for Booker. Pulev falls short on another right hand. Booker 10-9.
Round 2: Booker jabs to the body but doesn’t land it clean. Cuffing right hand comes from Pulev. Left hand partially lands for Pulev this time. Double jab comes from Booker but he doesn’t land it clean. Right hand lands to the body for Booker. Right hand over the top misses for Pulev. Booker giving Pulev a different picture and Pulev is struggling to land a clean shot. I think Booker is outboxing him. Booker 10-9, 20-18.
Round 3: Pulev comes out stalking but Booker gets off first with a shot to the body. Jab lands upstairs for Pulev. Right hand from Pulev grazes Booker upstairs. Now Pulev lands a cuffing right hook to the head. Double left hand comes from Booker, finishing with a clean hook to the body. Left hook lead lands for Booker upstairs. Right hand from Pulev misses onver the top. One-two from Pulev partially lands to the head. Left hook from Pulev gets round Booker’s guard. Pulev 10-9.
Round 4: Pulev comes out to center ring and looks to establish his jab before eating one in reeturn from Booker. Two clean shots land for Booker and it gets Pulev’s attention. Right hand from Book lands at mid-range but Pulev returns fire with two shots that puts Booker on the ropes. Booker tries to grab hold to force a break and then tries to throw two long punches that don’t land. Pulev lands a right hand to the body on the inside. Pulev continues to apply a lot of pressure but misses on two big shots upstairs. Now Booker lands a body shot on the inside. Right hook lands upstairs for Pulev. I’m getting the impression that Booker is fading and it’s just a matter of time. Pulev 10-9, 38-38.
Round 5: Pulev comes out and looks to force Booker to the ropes right away. Right hand lands to the body for Booker. Jab lands for Pulev, then another, then one more. Straight right hand lands to the body for Pulev as Booker lays on the ropes. Lead left hook lands for Booker. Right hook lands upstairs for Pulev. No Pulev lands a left hook to the head. Booker came into this fight in pretty poor shape and it looks like his tank is on empty. Booker is mostly just laying on the ropes now and using whatever energy and know-how he has left to evade big head shots. Pulev 10-9.
Round 6: Right hand lands upstairs for Pulev but Booker throws a couple of punches back. Booker takes a step back to the ropes and then throws a jab to the body followed by a right hand upstairs that gets Pulev’s attention. Booker lands another right hand now. Booker just misses on a right uppercut. Pulev throws a series of big punches but he doesn’t land them well. Right hand lands upstairs for Pulev. Another right hand lands for Booker. Two more hooks lands for Pulev, including one to the body. I think Booker gave up this round down the stretch. Pulev 10-9, 58-56.
Round 7: Pulev puts Booker on the ropes and throws the same two punches he’s been throwing all night but Booker knows what’s coming so is able to ride the shots. Right hook lands upstairs for Pulev. Another right hook lands around Booker’s guard. Straight right hands targets the body for Booker but it looks pretty weak. Straight right hand lands upstairs for Pulev. Left hook from Pulev grazes Booker’s jaw. Pulev 10-9.
Round 8: Double jab comes from Booker but then Booker walks himself right back to corner and covers up as Pulev probes and throws hooks and straight rights to the head. Right hook from Pulev gets around Booker’s guard. Another right hook lands for Pulev upstairs. Pulev throws another one-two but Booker is still able to see the predictable shots coming and take some of the sting off them. Pulev 10-9, 78-74.
Round 9: Pulev comes out pressing with his jab and gets Booker right back on the ropes. Right hand partially lands for Pulev upstairs. Right hook comes from Booker but his punches are weak because he’s fatigued. Right hook from Pulev lands around Booker’s guard. Big right hand lands for Pulev upstairs. Hard straight right lands to the body for Pulev. Pulev throws boths hands as Booker covers up along the ropes. Pulev 10-9.
Round 10: Last round and thank God! Pulev presses forward but Booker gets off first with three quick punches before initiating a clinch. Pulev comes forward some more and Booker goes right back to the ropes. Left hand lands upstairs for Pulev. Clubbing right hand glances off Booker’s glove. Right hand from Pulev misses to the head. Now Pulev partially lands a right hook. Pulev 10-9. I’ve got it for Pulev, 98-92.

In the main event, Jamel Herring will defend the WBO super featherweight title against mandatory challenger Lamont Roach Jr. Herring won the belt from Masayuki Ito on May 25 in Florida, while Roach is coming off of a mildly controversial decision win over Jonathan Oquendo on May 4.
The co-feature will see heavyweight contender Kubrat Pulev return to action against Rydell Booker, who has the sort of story that might make Mark Kriegel have a real bad ‘gasm right there on the TV if they give him time to go into it.
The prelim portion has prospects Gabriel Flores Jr, David Kaminsky, and Janibek Alimkhanuly in action; Esquiva Falcao continues fighting nobody at age 29; two-time Olympic gold medalist Robeisy Ramirez looks to bounce back from a shocking defeat in his pro debut; and Amir Imam looks to start rehabbing his career a bit.
