Tonight at 7 pm ET on ESPN, Top Rank is back with a doubleheader from Fresno, where local star Jose Ramirez will defend his WBC junior welterweight title against Jose Zepeda in the main event.
Ramirez (23-0, 16 KO) has emerged as one of the top fighters in a crowded and talented 140-pound class following the departure of Terence Crawford, and is looking to keep his momentum going in another home fight.
Zepeda (30-1, 25 KO) is probably best known for a 2015 lightweight title fight in Manchester against Terry Flanagan, where the road fighter suffered a freak shoulder injury and had to pull out in the second round. He’s since won seven straight fights pretty quietly, and is back in another title bout.
In the co-feature, former lightweight titleholder Ray Beltran (35-8-1, 21 KO) returns in a move up to 140 pounds, facing unbeaten Japanese fighter Hiroki Okada (19-0, 13 KO). Okada made his U.S. debut last September in Fresno, coming off the canvas in the final round to hang on for a win over Cristian Rafael Coria. Beltran is a step up from there on paper.
ESPN+ will begin streaming prelim action at 4 pm ET, featuring fights with Genesis Servania, Andy Vences, Saul Rodriguez, and more.
