Lightweight prospect Ryan Garcia is set to return to action on March 30, with Golden Boy’s Eric Gomez telling ESPN that the 20-year-old will face Jose Lopez on a card at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.

The card will stream live on DAZN, and is also expected to feature a 108-pound title fight between Angel Acosta and Ganigan Lopez.

Garcia (17-0, 14 KO) is coming off of a Dec. 15 win over Braulio Rodriguez, with Garcia as a featured part of the Canelo-Fielding undercard at Madison Square Garden. He knocked out Rodriguez in the fifth round.

Lopez (20-3-1, 14 KO) is a 24-year-old Puerto Rican fighter, a “young veteran,” if you will, having turned pro at age 17, back in 2011. He’s lost two of his last three, and is coming off of a TKO-6 defeat against Jonathan Oquendo last October.

Garcia is considered a real rising star and potential future superstar by Golden Boy, as he’s young, talented, has a good look, and is unquestionably terrific at promoting himself and his career via social media, something that will surely become a bigger and bigger deal with the coming generations of fighters.
