For whatever you think about Chris Eubank Sr., the man certainly doesn’t just indulge his son for the sake of doing so. When Eubank Jr. lost his WBSS semifinal bout against George Groves, Eubank Sr. was the first to tell his son that he rightfully lost that decision.

And now with his son set to take on James DeGale this weekend, Eubank Sr. let’s it be known that the outcome is in doubt and he’s not convinced his son will win:

Via Sky Sports:

“I am not convinced because DeGale has pedigree. I respect the man’s ability.

“From a physical point of view there is no-one who can stand with [Eubank Jr].

”But it is also spiritual and that is where Junior lacks. Spiritually I am buoyant. This is most certainly a 50-50 fight and, for the first time, I am petrified of what the outcome could be.”

But despite DeGale’s pedigree as a fighter, there are a lot of questions surrounding whether or not he’s still the fighter he once was. DeGale has been through a few wars recently and has looked worse for wear since. That said, should there be any fight that DeGale could turn the clock back on, it’s this one.
