Prograis vs Relikh
Donaire vs Tete
18 May, Glasgow
Taylor vs Baranchyk
Inoue vs Rodriguez
15 June, Riga
Briedis vs Glowacki
Dorticos vs Tabiti
Admittedly, Ivan Baranchyk’s status is still up in the air. Mike Coppinger reports that Ricky Burns could step in if “The Beast” can’t be convinced to rejoin the tournament.
Dorticos (23-1, 21 KO), the cruiserweight bracket’s #2-seed, starched Dmitry Kudryashov in the opening round of the last tournament before suffering a highlight reel knockout loss to Murat Gassiev in the semis. “The KO Doctor” got back on track in October with a hard-fought decision over durable veteran Mateusz Masternak.
Tabiti (17-0, 13 KO) was the sole unseeded cruiserweight to make it past the quarterfinals, defeating #4 Ruslan Fayfer by unanimous decision in the latter’s native Russia. His résumé includes wins over Keith Tapia, Lateef Kayode, and Steve Cunningham.
Dorticos will have two inches of height and 3.5 inches of reach on Tabiti, plus the edge in experience and punching power. It’ll be an uphill battle for the Money Team product, but luckily for us, it should be a fun one.
