Canelo-Jacobs: Opening Press Conference

Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs formally announce their May 4th fight.

As middleweight champions Canelo Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KOs) and Daniel Jacobs (35-2, 29 KOs) get set for a title unification match on May 4, the two fighters hold their first official press conference which can be viewed above thanks to our friends at Fight Hub TV.

Canelo, 28, is undoubtedly the star of the show, which will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and is coming off a knockout win over Rocky Fielding last December in his first outing on the DAZN platform. Canelo had moved up to super middleweight for that fight, but will be coming back down to defend his WBA and WBC titles against Jacobs.

Meanwhile Jacobs, 32, will be getting his first marquee fight since he lost to Gennady Golovkin back in early 2017. He most recently won a split decision over Sergey Derevyanchenko last October to snag that IBF middleweight title, and will be looking to establish himself as the top dog in the division by becoming a unified titleholder.

Check out what all the participants had to say and the first face-off between the fighters during their press run.
