WBO junior flyweight titleholder Angel “Tito” Acosta is coming to DAZN on March 30, featured on a card from Indio, California, along with at least a couple of top young prospects.
Acosta (19-1, 19 KO) is a 28-year-old Puerto Rican standout who has really made his name in the past couple of years. He actually lost his first world title bid, dropping a decision to Kosei Tanaka in May 2017, but after Tanaka vacated the title to move up to 112 pounds, Acosta knocked out Juan Alejo to win the vacant belt in Dec. 2017 at Madison Square Garden on the Cotto-Ali undercard.
Acosta has made two successful defenses of his title since then, stopping Carlos Buitagro in the 12th round last June, and knocking out Abraham Rodriguez in the second round in October.
Puerto Rican welterweight prospect Danielito Zorrilla (10-0, 8 KO) is expected to be on the card, and ESPN reports that Golden Boy is trying to make a deal with promoter Oswaldo Kuchle to get 21-year-old Mexican super featherweight prospect Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez (27-0, 24 KO) on the show, too.
