Why Would Wilder Turn Down DAZN's Money?

Mannix and a few others are reporting that Wilder is all set on the 100 million dollar offer from DAZN. That deal would have been two fights for about forty million and then I guess about sixty million for the Joshua fight, which sounds absurd but I assume includes Haymon and Finkel's levy. Why Wilder would turn this down to participate in the world's least wanted PPV card against Dominic Breazeale and be paid about one and a half million is so far beyond me it may as well be in Spain.

If Haymon is behind this and I have no doubt he is — Wilder isn't a genius but he's certainly not let me turn down the kind of money that would change my family members lives for no fewer than ten generations stupid — he should be jailed for violating the Ali reform act (can you be jailed for this? Someone get the lawyers on it). Haymon is Wilder's advisor, but he also has a vested interest in keeping Wilder on PBC affiliated shit like FOX and Showtime so the conflict here is obvious.

I want to know why. I want someone, anyone, all of you, to tell me why you think they'd turn this down — if in fact they are. Hell, maybe on Tuesday they'll announce a joint venture. Maybe Haymon and Hearn will fight on stage for Wilder's heart contractual obligations. Am I crazy or is this all beyond stupid?

Someone I spoke with suggested that Wilder just really cares about the zero in his L column and maybe one of the fights preceding Joshua would be against Usyk. I figure Haymon is just flat out breaking the law (not the first time he's been accused of this) and acting on Wilder's behalf to his own benefit.

So go ahead, posit your theories. Let's figure this out together.
