Danny Garcia vs Adrian Granados: Opening Press Conference

Garcia and Granados go head-to-head on April 20.

On top of yesterday’s announcement that Deontay Wilder will stay the course with Showtime for the time being, welterweights Danny Garcia and Adrian Granados held their opening press conference announcing their April 20th on FOX. The bout will be held at the Dignigty Health Sports Park (formerly known as the StubHub Center) in Carson, California.

When Granados (20-6-2, 14 KOs) took to the podium he offered these thoughts on the scheduled fight:

“This is gonna be a great fight. Definitely two fighters that definitely come with it. You know, I’m definitely coming out for victory in dominating fashion. This is definitely a fight that I’ve been wanting for a while now...

“It’s been a long time coming for me. Definitely haven’t had the easiest road paved out. I’m definitely looking to gain my respect and get a dominating win in this fight...it’s gonna be a barn-burner...may the best man win and may God protect us both.”

When Granados was definitely finished speaking his piece, Garcia (34-2, 20 KOs) had his turn to share some thoughts as well:

“April 20th, I’m on the road. This is just another fight for my legacy. That’s how I look at it...I’ve been in a lot of great fights in my career and this is an important fight for my career. I know he’s coming to fight. I know this is an important fight for me but I’m looking to make this one of my easiest fights.

“I’ve been training hard. I’ve seen Granados fight a few times. I wanna thank you for beating that one dude that called me a ‘cherry picker.’ I forgot his name but you knocked him out. Thank you for that, I appreciate it. But other than that, your ass is grass.”
