Today at 2:30 pm ET streaming live on ESPN+, we’ll see a couple of notable British prospects in action, plus two British titles defended at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London.
The two prospects taking the ring today are light heavyweight Anthony Yarde (17-0, 16 KO) and heavyweight Daniel Dubois (9-0, 8 KO).
Yarde, 27, will face American Travis Reeves (17-3-2, 7 KO), a 38-year-old veteran from Baltimore who, to be fair, is coming off of a decent win over Lanell Bellows on Jan. 17. Reeves’ most notable fight came in March 2018, when he was stopped int he 12th round by Karo Murat in Germany. Yarde is currently the WBO mandatory challenger for the title held by Sergey Kovalev.
Dubois, 21, will face former title challenger Razvan Cojanu (16-5, 9 KO) of Romania. Cojanu, 31, got a boost to his profile in 2017 when he faced Joseph Parker on short notice, losing a decision. He has since gone 0-2, dropping fights to Luis Ortiz and Nathan Gorman.
Yarde-Reeves and Dubois-Cojanu are both set for 10 rounds.
The British middleweight title will be on the line as Liam Williams (19-2-1, 14 KO) defends against scrapper Joe Mullender (11-2, 5 KO), and Johnny Garton (23-1-1, 10 KO) will defend the British welterweight title against Chris Jenkins (20-3-2, 8 KO). Both of those fights are set for 12 rounds.
