WBC welterweight titleholder Shawn Porter had some trouble on the scales on Friday, initially missing weight by 1.8 pounds, before coming back two hours later and finally making weight by cutting a bit of his hair to get under 147.

That means he’s still got his belt, which he defends tonight against Yordenis Ugas in the PBC on FOX main event.

Any time a fighter struggles to make weight in this manner — coming in heavy and then burning off the extra in such a short amount of time — you have to wonder how they’re going to perform in the ring. But Porter (29-2-1, 17 KO) says he’s not concerned:

“This was not a step back, this was not me underestimating Ugas. It was nothing except me not taking care of business the way it needed to be taken care of, when it needed to be taken care of. It’s done, it’s over, I’m solid as a rock. I feel good. And we got the fight. That’s it.”

We’ll see how he fares this evening against Ugas (23-3, 11 KO).
