Srisaket Sor Rungvisai’s first fight with Juan Francisco Estrada was one of the best of 2018, and now that the two are finally getting together for the rematch this Friday on DAZN, more of the same is expected.
WBC super flyweight titleholder Srisaket (47-4-1, 41 KO) spoke at the media workout for the event about the rematch with Estrada, including his prediction for the outcome.
On his rematch with Juan Francisco Estrada
“I really hope he does what he says. I really hope he becomes more active. If that happens, it will be a great fight between us. I’m 100 percent ready. I’m ready for anything that he brings.”
On what he’s done differently in preparation
“I trained harder than ever in my life for this fight, harder than last time. Last time, I did not expect Estrada to be as good as he was. But now I know. I know he’s preparing very well, so I’ve prepared the best that I could for this fight.”
On whether he would have preferred an immediate rematch
“I think it helped (to have two fights between), because it gave me time to study Estrada and know how he fights.”
On Estrada’s fights after their first meeting
“I watched the fights. I think that he looked stronger and faster, and that’s great. I’m happy to see that, because I want the fight to be great between the two of us. I’m very excited.”
On knocking out Roman Gonzalez in their rematch after a close first fight
“I think it will be the same result (with Estrada). I will win by knockout, just like how I knocked Chocolatito out.”
On how life has changed since becoming champion
“It changed a lot. My life changed completely. Now I get to be the police, and also wherever I go people come and ask me to take photos and ask for my autograph and so on.”
On how he’ll celebrate a win
“I will take my wife on a honeymoon trip. ... I don’t know where yet.”
